Egg Drop

The 2nd graders got to have an egg drop in honor of earth day. Russell told us what he wanted and Noah made sure it survived. We had his egg wrapped in foam laid in box full of packing peanuts with a parachute attached. Noah made the parachute from a garbage bag. We tested the parachute out the upstairs window. The 2nd graders walked to the fire station and the firefighters dropped the eggs off the ladder. Russell was very happy that his egg survived.
Russell with his egg which he named Fred.

Lined up waiting to see if the egg would survive.

The firefighter at the top of the ladder. The dropped a bag down and filled it with the kids' eggs then pulled it up and pulled a box out 1 at a time. It was fun to watch.

  1. That's awesome. We tried launching blown eggs with the water balloon slingshot. I thought they would break pretty easy but they didn't. Ambur and Ruger even launch a hard boiled egg. It exploded.

  2. I have known the kids to do this trick at our school, but not that much fun. Firetruck and all, that is awesome.
